What’s your favourite spot in FFM?: The river Main is my absolute favorite spot. Just being near the water feels always like a vacation

How did you discover it?: It’s an obvious place 🙂

How often do you visit it?: On average I would say 1-2 times a month. Of course, more often in summer than in winter

What do you like doing there?: Just chilling on a blanket and having drinks, chatting with friends, and playing with my toddler

Why do you love this spot? What makes it special to you?: It’s the water and the green grass around it + the amazing view you have from the Sachsenhausen side. It is just something very unique in Germany, if not Europe: the bridges, the skyscrapers, the grass and the water, have a holiday feel

Wie oft besuchst Du Deinen Lieblingsort?: Im Durchschnitt würde ich sagen 1-2 Mal im Monat. Im Sommer natürlich öfter, als im Winter

Was machst Du dort gerne?: Einfach nur auf einer Decke chillen und etwas trinken, mit Freunden plaudern und mit meinem Kleinkind spielen

Warum liebst Du diesen Ort?: Es ist das Wasser und das grüne Gras drumherum und die tolle Aussicht, die man von der Sachsenhäuser Seite hat. Es ist einfach etwas sehr Einzigartiges in Deutschland, wenn nicht sogar in Europa: die Brücken, die Hochhäuser, das Gras und das Wasser vermitteln ein Gefühl von Urlaub

What do you like doing there?: I like walking along the river and all the events that happen there. Especially listening to the symphony

Why do you love this spot? What makes it special to you?: It’s beautiful in every season with lots of events and it’s well taken care of by the city. You can bring a picnic, watch the geese and ducks, watch the boats, festivals, sun bathe, watch the leaves change color.

Was machst Du dort gerne?: Ich gehe gerne am Fluss entlang und mag die Veranstaltungen, die dort stattfinden. Vor allem höre ich gerne das Orchester

Warum liebst Du diesen Ort?: Er ist zu jeder Jahreszeit wunderschön dort, es gibt viele Veranstaltungen und die Stadt kümmert sich gut darum. Man kann ein Picknick mitbringen, Gänse und Enten beobachten, Boote bestaunen, Feste feiern, in der Sonne baden und beobachten, wie sich die Blätter verfärben.

Why do you love this spot? What makes it special to you?: It reminds me that this is a very international city with people from so many different cultures and it’s very central, as in connected to the world in many aspects, and at the same time so small I can reach everything by bike. I also like to see how it changes and think about the people who used to live here at a different time of my life

Warum liebst Du diesen Ort?: Er erinnert mich daran, dass das eine sehr internationale Stadt ist, in der Menschen aus so vielen verschiedenen Kulturen leben, die in vielerlei Hinsicht mit der Welt verbunden ist und die gleichzeitig so klein ist, dass ich alles mit dem Fahrrad erreichen kann. Ich mag es auch, zu sehen, wie sie sich verändert und an die Menschen zu denken, die hier zu einer anderen Zeit meines Lebens gelebt haben.

How did you discover it?: By bike/ on foot when I cross the Main

How often do you visit it?: Irregularly, often in the summer when I’m out and about in the city

What do you like doing there?: Watch the skyline and the hustle and bustle on the Main

Why do you love this spot? What makes it special to you?: I have always liked the bridges over the Main since we moved to Frankfurt in August 2020. I’ve never lived in a city with a big river and I love the feel it creates. From the bridges you have a very special view of the skyline and the contrast to the older cityscape. Especially in summer, the river is a great place where all residents come together to relax, chill out, and enjoy the sun. The Untermainbrücke was the main street from our first apartment in Sachsenhausen to the other side of the city. Riding over it by bike when the weather is nice is always a special experience.

Wie oft besuchst Du Deinen Lieblingsort?: Unregelmäßig, oft im Sommer, wenn ich in der Stadt unterwegs bin

Was machst Du dort gerne?: Die Skyline und das Treiben am Main beobachten

Warum liebst Du diesen Ort?: Die Brücken über den Main habe ich schon immer gemocht, seit wir im August 2020 nach Frankfurt gezogen sind. Ich habe noch nie in einer Stadt mit einem großen Fluss gewohnt und ich liebe das Flair, das dadurch entsteht. Von den Brücken hat man einen ganz besonderen Blick auf die Skyline und den Kontrast zum älteren Stadtbild. Insbesondere im Sommer ist der Fluss ein super Ort, an dem alle Bewohner*innen entspannt zusammenkommen, chillen und die Sonne genießen. Die Untermainbrücke war von unserer ersten Wohnung in Sachsenhausen aus die Hauptstraße zur anderen Stadtseite. Mit dem Fahrrad bei schönen Wetter drüber zu fahren, ist immer ein besonderes Erlebnis.
